Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Perfectionism plays a role in the development, maintenance, and treatment of eating disorders (ED). In this workshop, a recovered patient will share her story entailing the evolution of symptoms and emphasizing the importance of seeking treatment that addresses both perfectionism and disordered eating. The workshop will also review strategies to help distinguish each of these areas and review potential treatment interventions, especially those that target both problems. Particular attention will be paid towards distinguishing helpful and unhelpful perfectionism to offer a sophisticated way of addressing this complex problem. Combining professional and personal perspectives, this unique workshop includes an interactive lecture, audience participation, and even a live musical performance.
