When OCD and Eating Disorders Collide: Treatment Planning for OCD and Co-Existing Eating Disorders

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Managing OCD and a co-existing eating disorder can be quite difficult and require significant attention and prioritizing. A very important goal is to ensure that improvements in one disorder are not due to an increase in symptomatology of another co-existing disorder.  During this presentation, the presenters will discuss at length how to prioritize treatment goals and tools in these cases. Participants will learn how to manage clinical time with clients, specifically when their eating disorder has become a part of their OCD compulsions.  Respectful, compassionate, and individualized tools are crucial in these cases, specifically when dealing with different age groups, genders, and ethnicities, and will be touched on throughout the presentation.
