Superhero Storytime: Amazing Adam and the Secret Spell

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Join Amazing Adam, a super kid just like you, as he discovers for the first time that he has OCD. Adam's nemesis, the Worry Wizard, has Adam under a spell which causes his brain to make too many worry thoughts. Adam learns all about his OCD, where his worry thoughts come from, and how to defeat them. Armed with super skills he learned in therapy, Adam
prepares to take on the Worry Wizard! Will Adam's super skills be enough to defeat the Worry Wizard once and for all? Join us to find out! Following the reading, families will be given art supplies so children can create their own image of themselves as a superhero and their OCD as a super villain. This exercise is intended to help empower children to fight back against their symptoms and to recognize OCD as something separate from themselves.
