Heather Mast
Peace of Mind Foundation Program Director
Houston, Texas
I am currently the Program Director for the Peace of Mind (POM) Foundation. POM is a non-profit organization whose mission is to help improve the quality of life of OCD sufferers and caregivers through education, research, support, and advocacy. Founded by the Linda and Jim McIngvale family at the request of their daughter Elizabeth. The Foundation created and fully subsidizes the OCD Challenge, a free online self-help website for individuals suffering from OCD. POM also offers OCD training to professionals, resources to family members and advocacy across the nation on OCD/mental illness and has provided nearly one million dollars in treatment scholarship subsidies to OCD sufferers and caregivers to attend the annual conferences held by the International Obsessive Compulsive Foundation (IOCDF). POM successfully founded the Houston OCD Support Group, currently active. I am currently obtaining my MSW at Baylor University (2016) with intent to pursue my LCSW. I bestow 15+ years of experience working with various psychiatric disordered populations. My interest is within the field of CBT for OCD, BDD & other therapeutic methods and mental illness. My experience varies from State, community, correctional mental health facilities to private psychiatric hospital organizations.
