Shannon Blakey, MS

Shannon Blakey, MS, is a doctoral student in the clinical psychology program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC). She received her master's degree in 2013 from the University of Wyoming and currently works in the UNC Anxiety and OCD Lab with Dr. Jonathan Abramowitz. Ms. Blakey's primary research interests focus on the mechanisms involved in the maintenance and treatment of OCD and related disorders; in particular, anxiety sensitivity and the effects of safety behaviors during exposure therapy. Ms. Blakey has published and presented peer-reviewed research on cognitive-behavioral processes related to OCD and other anxiety related disorders at several international conferences. She also has experience treating clients with OCD and related disorders in both clinical and research contexts.
